Kiddie Pools and Family Pictures

A few weekends ago, we FINALLY made a reservation at the kennel for our pups for the weekend of Rebecca's wedding.  Nothing like the last minute.  In a brief moment of guilt and paranoia (who are we kidding, it was more than a moment), we also decided to do a "trial run" weekend with them in the kennel so that they get familiar with it and understand that we will come back to get them.  Also, so that if Lucy freaked out and they called us to come get her, we would be closer than Wyoming...

So we dropped them off and I wallowed in "I'm a bad puppy mom" guilt while Aaron drove us to Brent and Jessica's!  The plan was to do NOTHING... and it was awesome...

Beer was consumed,

water guns were brought out,

snacks were consumed (Emma knows the word "Cheeto" now... whoops),

and when water guns weren't enough, pitchers were included in the water war!

sometimes held by the toddler...

At the end of the day, we were all tired, so we watched Anchorman 2 and I may or may not have finished a bottle of Italian Prosecco that Aaron had brought back for me!  It was delicious!

We headed out very early on Sunday to go get the pups before the kennel closed.  They were absolutely fine and all of my worrying was for nothing!

This past weekend, we headed down to Mom and Dad Ballew's house for a birthday party!  Mom Ballew and PopPop had birthdays last week, so we met up for some pool time, a cookout, and some family pictures!  All of the families got individual pictures and then we sat for one big family picture!

The pictures should look really nice when they come out, but Aaron and I couldn't justify paying for pictures for just us and the dogs, so instead, we sucked Dad Ballew into taking some of us afterwards!

AND we noticed that the pups matched the color scheme!

All in all, with travelling to Indiana in the week days in between these two events, I am tired.  Happy, but tired.  We have been busy, but there is no end in sight!  We still have Rebecca's wedding, Aaron's golf tournament, a visit from my parents, a JMU football game, and a potential Nats game... all in the next month!  This is why they invented coffee...
