Bachelorette Brewery Bike Tour and Bar Hop!

Rebecca got married!  I headed out to Denver on Thursday to meet up with Lauren.  We drove up to Fort Collins for the Bachelorette Party!  We spent Thursday making wedding crafts and listening to Rebecca serenade us on her flute... she's odd, but we love her!

Friday morning, we applied our metallic tattoos (per the Bride's request), met up with Jaime, and headed to the bike library to get our bikes and go to breweries!

The biking took some getting used to, at least for me.  I do not bike often, I haven't owned a bike in probably 10 years.  But once we got going, it was so much fun!

Our first stop was Funkwerks.  It is apparently famous (at least in town) for its Saisons.  I didn't like it, but I liked the rest of their beer!  It was perfect for the sunny, warm day!  We collectively voted it the best beer of the day.

One of our crafts on Thursday was making pretzel necklaces for the bike tour.  The crafting happened on Friday morning in between tattoo application, but the results were fabulously tasty!  Lauren and Rebecca decided to go with pretzel bracelets and then none of us wore them anyway... we just ate them when we stopped.

The next stop was Horse and Dragon.  This one won for having the best atmosphere of the day.  It was in a sketchy warehouse area and we were pretty sure that Jaime was leading us into some creepy area to get kidnapped... but no worries, we got beer instead!  And it was delicious...

The shiny tattoos got many comments throughout the day.  My favorite was an 70-ish year old woman in Qdoba that told me she's always wanted a tattoo and even if it is fake, the shiny ones are beautiful.  She was adorable.  The only issue with the tattoos was that mine were the only ones that came off on the first try!  Everybody else had to scrub theirs off over a few showers and Rebecca even left the one on her leg in tact for the wedding!

I don't even know what this face is... she was telling a "bear story" and could not be bothered by pictures...
Next up was Snowbank.  The beer was not bad, but the brewery was very business like... not in their service (they were really nice!), but in the atmosphere.  It felt like a cafeteria, kind of.  So we ignored it and played Apples to Apples...

Action shot while biking!
The last official brewery was New Belgium.  It was crazy busy and the bartender was NOT nice.  So we sat outside and drank our un-labeled beer. it was still delicious... Especially their pumpkin beer!

Qdoba had been our first stop and Rebecca insisted on bringing her leftover burrito along for the ride to eat later.  Lauren carried it in her water-bottle holder on her bike... and we all enjoyed bites while at New Beligum!

The last place we visited was Compass Cider.  It was delicious, but sweet... as all ciders are.  Except for their pumpkin one!  That was yummy.

We had forgotten at places 2 through 4 to tell them that Franke was gettin' hitched, so no extra stuff for her there.  Funkwerks gave her an extra drink and Compass gave her an extra cider and some pound cake!

The lady at the cider place was super nice and so we got a few growlers to go and headed back to the apartment.  There, we played some bachelorette games, got ready, decked out Rebecca in her gear, and headed out on the town!

The floral crown had a veil attached and the sash ended up being a "MMA belt" (as Rebecca called it) because it wouldn't stay in place and she just tied it around her waist.

We headed to dinner at a Mexican restaurant.  It was good!  And again, Rebecca brought her burrito home... she's insane.

She also struggled to stay awake... alcohol, all day biking, sunshine, and more alcohol... not a good combo.

Rebecca's only real request was that we head to this speak-easy-ish place called Social.  We got super classy looking drinks, Jaime played cat's cradle with her necklace, Rebecca started falling asleep AGAIN, and we headed home...

It was an awesome day and I was super glad to help Rebecca pre-celebrate her wedding!
