Gus Gus!

It all worked out swell and yesterday, Gus became an official Ballew family member!  He is adorable and fuzzy and Lucy is just all-to thrilled to have a brother.

So far, it's going decently.  Lucy wants to play continuously (because every other dog she's interacted with has been older and can keep up), but Gus seems to enjoy the 10 minute play spurts followed by 5 minutes of plopping on the ground for recovery.  He's also still trying to learn his environment, so her constant bids for his attention are not always welcome.  We are working on teaching her to calm down... and to not bark at him when he doesn't want to play.

He seems pretty well behaved and he is essentially house-broken already, which is fantastic!  He did well in the crate yesterday and last night too.

He's super cute and we are glad that it worked out!  Enjoy copious pictures... I am an obsessive mother....
