Golf and Garages

So Aaron is finally done travelling to other countries for work.  Now we get to focus on planning for our next trip... to Cleveland for the annual Liggett family golf outing!  I haven't been to the golf outing since the beginning of college.  Between internships and moving to AZ, it's been a while.  I have NEVER played in the golf outing.  I was always the babysitter.  Well, there are no more cousin-babies, I finally learned how to golf, and Aaron would absolutely not attend a golf outing without actually golfing (its equivalent to heresy)... so this year, we will be golfing.  And we will cross our fingers that I am not atrociously terrible.
To help that, we practiced!  We went golfing last weekend after Aaron slept in (blaming jet lag).  I didn't do terribly on the first few holes.  However, I seemed to use up all of my skillz (with a z, cause they are not real) and then I didn't do so well to close out the day.  I didn't double par, so there's that.

This weekend, we went to the driving range!  It was not ideal timing, since it was sunset on Friday.  There were a lot of balls hit that we couldn't follow because we were blinded by the sun, but it was fun!

And then, in the spirit of practicing putting, we played Putt-Putt.  Don't bother explaining to me that they are not the same skill, we had a good time.  And I realize that there is no golf green that involves a 30 degree hill and then 4 boulders and a waterfall... but I wish they all had those bumpers!

We had planned to golf on Saturday or Sunday, but then we decided to clean out the garage instead, because we are just spontaneous like that...

2 trips to the scrapyard, 1 trip to the dump and a few hours later, our garage was clean!

We (Aaron) also decided to clean the cars.  It had been a while since either of our cars have gotten cleaned out (as evidenced by the fact that we found some stuff in the Jeep from our cross-country moving trip), so it was overdue.  It was also a lot of work... cleaning, waxing, vacuuming, windows, blah, blah...

The cars look nice though.  And it's supposed to rain this week.  Go figure.

The pups were of zero help in the cleaning department, so they held down the fort inside and napped.  It's a rough life they lead...

We still have 1 more weekend until the outing, so there is still some golf practicing to be done!  If all else fails, at least my whole golf ensemble matches... and I do mean the whole thing - the bag, clubs, club covers, towel, shoes, glove... All of it.  So at least I'll look good!

Our Furry Children... a Recap

So apparently when we are not crazy busy, we are boring.  Since I left for TN the week after Hop Blossom and Aaron left for Italy Round 1 as I was coming back, we have done very little to write about.  Once we were both back, we painted the foundation on the house and had some people over for 4th of July.  That has been the highlight of the last 4 weeks.

While Aaron was gone, I did a LOT of movie watching with the pups... Here's a recap.

Gus was NOT thrilled with the back-to-back missing parent thing.  He checked the door every day to see if Aaron was coming home.  It was cute, but kind of sad.

To distract them from missing Aaron, I bought them a big fluffy/squeaky giraffe.  It lasted 5 minutes.  And they loved it.

They both wanted to chew on the same spot, even though the thing was 3 feet long.  Silly puppies...

When Aaron got back, he showed me all of his pictures!  They "worked" during the week, but spent the weekend at some cool places!

And then he crashed... hard.  He blamed jet lag.

We had to paint our foundation (HOA orders), so we bought a pressure washer so that Aaron could clean it.  He got distracted by cleaning the bird poop off the fence instead...

Irrelevant picture that was just too cute not to share...

Aaron smoked ribs for 4th of July.  They were a hit!

He also found a random fireworks cart in town and bought some fun fireworks!  The dogs hated it...

To make up for the scary fireworks (both our cheap ones and our neighbor's actual legit fireworks), they got extra snuggles that night.

And they were back to normal the next day!  Just a tad bit tired.

And since then, we've done nothing.  This is a picture from one lunch time while we sat outside.
And so here we are... A significantly shorter "Movies to watch" list on Redbox and one painted foundation later.

And Aaron is BACK in Italy this week (because his life is really rough, clearly), so Redbox and I are getting reacquainted.  5 movies in 1 weekend... too much?  I think not.
